After years of working as a lawyer, Sonya Hong made a bold career change and enrolled at the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco. She went on to launch Butterfly Cakes, which she operated for more than 12 years. Butterfly Cakes was voted a top wedding cake maker by The Knot magazine, and Sonya's custom-designed cake creations have been featured in InStyle magazine, Northern California Brides magazine and on television. Sonya now loves to share her knowledge of cake decorating through classes at Le Gourmet Factory Cooking School in Englewood, New Jersey, as well as on Craftsy.
