Session 2: Mosaic Knitting

Mosaic knitting is a colorwork technique using only two colors of yarn, one color per row, that takes its distinctive look from carefully slipped stitches. Championed by knitting genius Barbara Walker in the late 1960s, there are literally hundreds of patterns you can try!
Session 3: Intarsia

For Intarsia knitting we have a different ball or bobbin of yarn for each section of a specific color. Even if the same color appears more than one time in a row, there are no floats – each iteration of a color begins its own strand of yarn.
Session 4: Stranded Knitting: Fair Isle

Stranded knitting is just what it sounds like – you will work with multiple strands of yarn across one row, carrying the unused color behind the stitches, to achieve your desired colorwork. Fair Isle knitting is a type of stranded knitting with its own set of standards. Once again it is all about the yarn management, this time a little different than the previous techniques.
Like many other techniques in knitting, colorwork isn’t scary once you know how! In this class we are doing to do an overview of three different colorwork techniques – Mosaic Knitting, Intarsia and Fair Isle or Stranded Knitting. Each technique has its own special tips and tricks to give you an enjoyable knitting experience with a beautiful outcome.
