Bringing Out the Elements in Your Photos

Steve Kossack
Duration:   11  mins

How do you tell a visual story through a landscape photograph? In this video, professional landscape photographer Steve Kossack will show you how.

Steve sets up on a high desert mesa and assesses the natural lighting that creates the drama. “The challenge,” Steve explains, “is the changing light.” In composing an image, Steve thinks of “nature’s salad bowl,” all the ingredients nature puts into the visual bowl, rocks, plants, hills, clouds, sky, the textures and colors. To balance the light, he shows you how to use a graduated neutral density filter and how to bracket with multiple exposures.

Join pro shooter Steve Kossack on the desert mesa for landscape photography tips to help you create your own nature’s salad bowl.
