Capturing Canyon Debris Inside an Arizona Canyon

Steve Kossack
Duration:   3  mins

Canyon debris on a cavern wall can make a beautiful photograph. In this video, professional outdoor photographer Steve Kossack takes you into an Arizona cavern to show you how to capture an image of canyon debris.

The canyon was formed by massive amounts of ancient debris, leaving stunning patterns on the walls. Steve uses a color intensifier filter to pump up the natural colors of the rock. Because of the high contrast between highlights and shadows, he takes multiple exposures in different settings. This allows him to create a composite in post-production.

Join pro shooter Steve Kossack for landscape photography tips on capturing canyon debris in the cool shadows of a cavern.
