Editing Images for Time Lapse

Steve Niedorf
Duration:   9  mins

Time-lapse photography involves the use of capturing and retouching your stills along with post-production video editing. In this tutorial video, professional photographer Steve Niedorf shows you the process from beginning to end.

For photo editing, he employs Lightroom to process and later export his infrared stills to Premiere Pro where he will convert them into a video timeline. He shows you three still images of bamboo, one captured normally in late-day flat light and the second with the infrared filter. To achieve the third and final processed image, he takes you through all the editing steps in Lightroom.

Next, Steve shows you a similar editing process by using his high-contrast image of palm trees. Finally, he gives you tips on overcoming hot spots that can appear on infrared images.
