Quick Tips to Level Your Camera Horizon

There are times when landscape photographers get frustrated because the horizons in their images do not turn out completely level. In this free video, world renowned outdoor photographer Ian Plant shows you different methods to make sure your landscape images end up on the level. One method employs a small bubble level that you slot in your camera’s hot shoe.

A second method is the use of the electronic level located in your digital camera’s menu. A third approach is to rely on your camera’s live view and the grid that appears over the LCD screen. What if you are faced with a natural horizon that isn’t level such as a distant mountain range or a jagged canyon? In those cases, Ian suggests you need to rely on your own judgement.
