Encounters with More Wildlife

Doug Gardner
Duration:   9  mins

Tag along with professional wildlife photographer Doug Gardner as he takes his boat on a scavenger hunt for wildlife in the backwaters of South Carolina’s Lake Marion. He explains, “Around wildlife, you have to be quiet. That’s why I use a trolling motor.”

Doug captures a yellow warbler feeding on mayflies, a barred owl in flight, and a green heron on an island of trees. He recommends using auto-focus, keeping the sensor on the bird’s head or the eye for sharpness. As the natural light changes, Doug also shows you the importance of adjusting your white balance.

Join pro shooter Doug Gardner in this video, Encounters with More Wildlife, and be sure to get out and explore new wildlife areas near your own home.
