Wildlife Photography Techniques for Better Composition

What belongs in your picture? Learn from an expert photographer how to compose a picture that takes the viewer’s eyes where you, the photographer, want them to go, and which settings can help you achieve that most effectively.

Composition refers to where things are in your photograph. In this session, you will learn Doug’s wildlife photography techniques while gaining an understanding of the elements of good composition. You will learn to consider things you may not want in your photograph at all, and how to use the location’s setting to add interest to the image while de-emphasizing items that could cause a distraction from the main subject. Doug also discusses color contrasts and gives the camera settings used to produce the results he is looking for, to bring the viewer’s eyes to the subject, and include the context of its environment.
