Crochet Loop Bind Off

Description

The crochet loop bind off is a beautifully decorative bind off method that’s the perfect edging for projects like top-down shawls and baby items. In this video, Corrina Ferguson demonstrates how to work this bind off.

Corrina begins by showing a small swatch with the Crochet Loop Bind Off. The swatch has 21 stitches before binding off, a multiple of three stitches. She notes that to work this bind off a smaller crochet hook is needed. This helps to manipulate the stitches off the knitting needle and onto the hook. She uses a US 7 (4.5 mm) knitting needle for her swatch and is using a G6 (4.25 mm) crochet hook to bind off.

Corrina works the Crochet Loop Bind Off by following these steps:

1. Slip 3 stitches purlwise to crochet hook.
2. Yarn over and pull through all stitches on the crochet hook – 1 stitch remains on the hook.
3. Chain 5 stitches by working a yarn over and pulling the yarn through the loop on the crochet hook 5 times.

Repeat these steps until all stitches have been worked and the Crochet Looped Bind Off is complete. Cut yarn and pass through final stitch to fasten off.

If you’d like to work the swatch in the video to practice this bind off, work the swatch and bind off as follows:
