Lens Flare Photography

Jim Zuckerman
Duration:   5  mins

Lens flare can be an annoying problem when shooting in sunlight. World-renowned photographer Jim Zuckerman visits an old cemetery in Weston, Massachusetts, for tips on lens flare photography.

“If you include the sun in your composition, you can’t get rid of lens flare,” Jim explains. He composes a wide-angle shot of backlighted gravestones, and he crops out the sun. Yet, flare spots still show up. To solve the problem, he uses his hand to shield the lens from the remaining sun rays, eliminating the sun flare.

Join pro shooter Jim Zuckerman in the old cemetery as he shows you how to eliminate sun flare in your backlighted compositions.
